January 10, 2019 / DILG
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has successfully launched the Public-Private Partnership for the People Initiative for Local Governments (LGU P4) in 2016. Since then, the project has successfully advocated public-private partnerships (PPPs) to local government units (LGUs) through the conduct of regional roadshows and consultations, capacity building activities, as well as business matching fora. In turn, these activities have resulted to, several LGUs embarking on PPPs.
DILG XI has successfully conducted the Strengthening Private Sector participation in LGU P4: A forum for business consortium at the Pinnacle Hotel and Suites, Sta. Ana Avenue, Davao City last June 28, 2018.
There were were sixty eight (68) participants from the Private/Business Sector, guest from other government agencies (DTI, DTI-BOI, and PPP Center), Bureau of Local Government Development and DILG XI.
The forum emphasized the importance of convergence of both public and private sectors in the effectiveness in the delivery of basic services to the people. Sharing of Private Sector Experiences on Local PPP from MAHINTANA Foundation and Prime Market Center was one of the highlights of the activity.
Regional forum served as a prelude to widen the scope of the participation of private sector and other stakeholders for the conduct of national business matching on October 2018.
